FREE! Arbitrator Training/Mentoring

The world's only cyberspace arbitration firm and small claims court for the Internet, net-ARB.com seeks to increase our staff of tech-savvy arbitrators to hear contract disputes that arise from a wide assortment of development contracts that run the gamut of web technologies, PC apps, smart-phone apps, SEO, mechanical fabrication, research and writing, plus a whole lot more. Technical arbitrators need not have any prior legal training, only common sense and a good moral compass.

What is an arbitrator?
An arbitrator is like a judge holding a bench trial (think Judge Judy). The arbitrator presides over a hearing in which both sides testify and then makes a final, binding decision based on the evidence.

Who makes a good arbitrator?
If you ever watch any of the TV 'judge' shows (they are really arbitrations, not trials) and like to pretend you're the judge, you're an arbitrator candidate. If you're analytical and like to solve puzzles, you're a better candidate.

Already strapped for time in your schedule?
No problem there. One of the cool things about arbitrating by email is that neither the parties nor the arbitrators have to schedule anything together. Everyone participates from home or office any time of day or night that suits their schedule. While cases usually run for 2-3 weeks or more, in the aggregate they may take no more than 2 hours of your time.

How much does it pay?
It pays quite well by the hour. Arbitrators are paid from $100-125 per case depending on the responsibilities. Once you are experienced, you can figure on an aggregated average of 2-3 hours per case which works out to $35-60 per hour which isn't so bad for working at home in your pajamas if you care to, doing something you like doing anyway.

What does training consist of?
Training begins with a 1-day class to familiarize you with arbitration as it applies to the kinds of technical disputes we hear. After that, personal mentoring will take you the rest of the way toward your first hearing. The pace and length of mentored training varies according to the time you have available and your progress.

Other than some extra money, what value is all of this to me in the long run?
Over time you will see a huge increase in your writing skills while honing your analytical ability. Arbitration experience makes tasty resume candy as well. You will witness firsthand why contracts fail and how to avoid those mistakes in both your personal and professional lives. Deliberating cases will give you valuable insight into the judicial decision-making process, making you a better, more informed litigant or potential litigant should you ever face that situation yourself. And finally, you will get exposure and insight into advancing technologies that you may not experience in your present job, making you better informed and more aware in your profession.

One-day orientation and basic arbitrator training will be held at a date TBD. For more questions or to sign up, write to marty@net-ARB.com or call 678-234-6569. The one-day training as well as the mentoring is at no cost to you whatsoever!
